Filmed a segment for CNBC – The Roads to Carbon Neutral series earlier this year. Interviewed Claude Letourneau the President & CEO of Svante in his factory. Svante makes commercial-scale carbon capture a reality and positions global industries to play offense in the fight against climate change. The interview was filmed with my Sony FS7 over zoom from London England. My segment begins at 21:50 in the first episode – The Climate Issue. Enjoy!

Had the pleasure of working with The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for their Academy Dialogues as their Videographer here in Vancouver.
I had the amazing opportunity to film Laura Karpman during her discussion with Anita Hill, Geena Davis Alma Har’el and Karen Rupert Toliver. This is a fascinating talk about Gender Equality in Film and Television today and how much further we need to go. A must watch. For any of your zoom meetings and videography needs contact us for your next project. Here is some more info about the project.
Anita Hill (subject of “Anita: Speaking Truth to Power”), chair of the Hollywood Commission and professor at Brandeis University, Heller School for Social Policy and Management, moderates this conversation with Oscar-winning actor Geena Davis (“A League of Their Own”), award-winning filmmaker Alma Har’el (“Honey Boy”), Academy governor and composer Laura Karpman (“Lovecraft Country”), and EVP Creative for Sony Pictures Animation and Oscar-winning producer Karen Rupert Toliver (“Hair Love”) about their personal journey to becoming agents of change. In their discussion, they explore how women of all ages see themselves depicted in the far-reaching world of movies, and how to bring more role models on screen and behind the camera. This Academy Dialogue dives into what true equity and inclusion means, how it will inevitably lead to a safer work environment and how to normalize and amplify female leadership and empowerment.
For this project I was contacted by Quantum University to do a spotlight on one of their Alumni, Dr Keith Tong. Dr. Tong describes his experiences building his business, ‘Total Vitality Centre,’ while completing his PhD in Integrative and Natural Medicine with Quantum University. Use of technology has played an important role in building success with Dr. Tong’s clients. He discusses the use of revolutionary instruments such as Kirlian photography with the Bio-well 2.0 which is able to measure such elements as vitality, providing clients with front-row seats to eye-opening results and allowing them to take a quantum leap of realization in understanding what is required to start the healing process. “My most amazing Quantum University story is actually myself. As I am learning all the modalities and techniques through the learning modules, I have developed the ability to apply what I have gone through in life and find a new way of looking at things… I am very grateful to have entered the path of Quantum University because it helped me heal myself, which will now allow me to heal others.”
Madstone Films created this segment for the University. If you are a startup business here in Vancouver, Madstone Films can help create a custom video for you and your local business.

I was hired as the Director of Photography and Production Manager here in Vancouver for Platinum Platypus. I diligently worked with Platinum Platypus to make sure that we had everything they needed here in Vancouver, so that they could come in from New York with their production expert and film for two days at their factory. Almost all the footage in this video was filmed with myself and two other camera operators at their facility. Madstone Films has worked with many production companies from around the world to organize and film events, interviews and factories.
The video showcases Creation’s values at their core with imagery and script that conveys this clearly. In the video, you see real employees doing real work that they love to do, and it was a pleasure working with Creation in order to capture and showcase these moments.
For your production video and drone photography needs, Madstone films is here to help! The video was produced and edited by Platinum Platypus Production company in New York.
Videos are a very effective marketing tool and a great way of connecting directly with your audience. If you are looking for a way to set your marketing strategy apart from competitors, drone videos are the way to go and you will quickly notice a positive difference.
Companies who want to capture their audience’s attention must incorporate drone videos into their marketing strategy as it is a fun and interesting way of generating interest, and the following are just some of the reasons why you should consider this option:
Create Amazing Videos With Ease
Drone video allows you to capture the exact shots you want without endangering your staff or camera crew. With this tool, there is no need to climb high ladders or to get on cranes because a drone video can do all of that for you all while staying within your budget. Whether you want to showcase your showroom or want a panoramic shot of a specific event, a drone video will allow you to capture exactly what you’re after and the results will be breathtaking. Some learning is involved but the results will be worth your time.
Take Your Social Media To A Whole New Level
Whether you’re a fan or not, social media is a big part of our world and can either make or break a business. In order to have a successful social media account, you need to provide followers with interesting content and treating them to a drone video will engage them to like and comment on your services and products. You will generate interest among your followers and will take your account to a whole new level, so if you want to stay ahead of the game, drone videos are a must.
Stand Out From Your Competitors
Technology is constantly changing and with all of the new video features that are available, you need to make sure you are ahead of the game. Failing to provide your customers and followers with new and up-to-date information will cause them to lose interest, so you need to prove to them that you are embracing the latest trends by investing in the newest equipment. Drone videos will definitely set you apart, so it is something you need to consider if you want to stand out from the crowd.
Experience Versatility
Drones are not only effective but versatile as well and can be used in a number of industries, including TV and film, real estate, tourism, event organization and property management, to name a few. All of these industries can take advantage of the stunning aerial footage that drone videos can produce and their business will increase as a result.
If you are looking for a reputable videographer in the Vancouver area, Madstone Films can help. We specialize in drone photography and video production, so if you want to take your business to the next level, give us a call today!
The Advent of Liquified Natural Gas and What It Means for Canadian Natural Gas
Liquified natural gas, or LNG, is natural gas chilled and liquified into a clear non-corrosive and non-toxic liquid; due to its extreme cold, however, it can flash freeze any flesh it touches.
Mark Fitzgerald, the president and CEO of PETRONAS Canada, was kind enough to sit down and expand on what LNG’s advent within Canada can mean for its natural gas industry. Fitzgerald explained that LNG infrastructure development was absolutely crucial to Canada’s industry, thanks to several benefits such as the abundance of natural gas resources, pre-established infrastructure ripe for adaptation, and the small distance between Canadian natural gas and its most important markets.
He also sees the impact of Canadian LNG exports on the global industry as an opportunity to take a leading role and meet the world’s ever-growing energy demands while still maintaining the vision for a green industry. Fitzgerald is also confident that Canada can meet the world’s demand, although it will be regional by nature due to the high-quality nature of Canadian LNG and Canada’s connections to close LNG markets.
The Importance of the Natural Gas Innovation Fund
The Natural Gas Innovation Fund, or NGIF, was founded by the Canadian Gas Association to support funding towards cleantech innovations in every aspect of the production chain for natural gas; it’s also meant to fill the tech development gap and help invest in industry innovations.
Fitzgerald sees PETRONAS Canada’s involvement in the NGIF as not only something to be proud of, but also a vital component of keeping on top of innovations and creativity within the industry that helps meet public expectations concerning reduced emissions and a greener future.
Additionally, he sees the NGIF overall as an important tool for the industry to come together and share what it’s learned collectively and drive innovation and success that’s critical to the industry long-term.
Why Mark Fitzgerald Attends Events Like Canada Gas & LNG Exhibition and Conference
He sees events like the exhibition as a great place to not only talk but share ideas about how to be successful both as an industry and as a partner with those that expect the industry to meet green energy and cleantech guidelines.
